For my Shawshank Redemption review, I am the most people who watched the Shawshank Redemption movie (and we love it, it is all time top-rated movie in IMDB) before reading the original book. The book gave us more details, the story of Andy’s crime was made clearer, he tried to fight the case very hard. Despite losing in the end, and finally made him be a prisoner of Shawshank. After comparing the book and the movie, I found that the movie has changed some details and went further than the book did, such as the end of Norton, the story of William. But in each important scene in the movie, they used the book’s dialogs, not cut even adapted it that made the movie kept the messages of the book so completely. However, I like them both.

For someone who might doubt who Rita Hayworth is?, how she was involved in this story?. because the title of the movie cut Rita Hayworth out to be just “Shawshank Redemption.” And the answer is, Rita Hayworth is the name of the model in the first poster that Andy hung on the wall of Cellblock no.5, It is the object that was very important in the story. It was showed how Andy broke the Shank even though, in the end, the last poster was Linda Ronstadt.

The main idea of the book we can found in the letter that Andy wrote to Red.

“Remember that hope is a good thing, Red, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies.”
